Apple Inc. - The company that changed the IT world

Every individual in the world who works with computers, or uses a gadget of some sort is aware of the remarkable little company known as Apple Inc. It also happens to be the most loved brand of 2009 and I’m sure, for more years to come. But this isn’t by accident, and it is also not something unexpected. Apple delivers products that can be called perfect. Steve Jobs, the CEO of the company, is the brain behind it all. Innovation is his philosophy and it’s done him and the world wonders.

Every move the company makes, is a market game-changing move. Take for example our media of listening to our tunes before October 23, 2001. Walkman and Discmans were what we all used back then. Now, on this particular day, Mr.Jobs and Apple came out with a revolutionary product which we all now know as the iPod. From carrying around a huge device that plays a disc with about 30 - 50 songs to carrying around a small little device that carries thousands? Phenomenal.

Along with the iPod, Apple also introduced the concept of purchasing music online as digital tracks through the iTunes Music Store, another breakthrough in the industry.

All this is indeed, very impressive. This is however only the tip of the iceberg.

Apple’s very own operating system, Macintosh OS X was introduced on March 24, 2001. It was very user friendly to say the least, and it just worked. Built upon the strong UNIX core, security vulnerabilities are minimal. Through the years, Apple has continuously refined and perfected the OS, and it’s current version Mac OS X Snow Leopard, is THE ideal operating system and a big competition for the most popular OS in the world, Windows.

In the year 2007, Apple yet again made a breakthrough, but this time in the cellphone industry. The iPhone was released on January 9, 2007 and this move made by Apple changed everything. Every cellphone company in the world was hit hard by the remarkable device which was generations ahead in every aspect. It was something different. Multitouch interface, just a couple of buttons, pinching a photo to zoom in and out - stuff we all see in Sci-Fi movies like Back To The Future!

And now the latest in Apple’s arsenal is the iPad, which I will be talking about in my next post.

Apple doesn’t just announce their products a year in advance and keep people waiting. They unveil their new products with style, and slip out some rumors here and there just to keep people at the edge of their seats.
